How to Make a Plaster Mask

Materials:

- Plaster of paris - Water - Mixing bowls - Brush - Vaseline or petroleum jelly - Face mold (plaster, plastic, surgical gauze, or aluminum foil) - Sponges

3. Mix the plaster of paris according to the package directions. The mixture should be about the consistency of pancake batter.
4. Using a brush, apply a thin layer of plaster to your face mold. Make sure to get into all the nooks and crannies.
5. Allow the first layer of plaster to dry for about 15 minutes, or until it's no longer sticky.

   Tips:

   • If you're having trouble getting the plaster into all the nooks and crannies, you can use a cotton swab to help.
   • If you're making a mask of a child's face, be sure to supervise them closely and make sure they don't get any plaster in their eyes or mouth.
6. Once the first layer of plaster is dry, apply a second layer. This time, you can apply a thicker layer.

   • Use a sponge to smooth out the plaster and remove any excess.
   • Allow the second layer of plaster to dry for about 30 minutes, or until it's completely hard.
7. Once the plaster is completely dry, you can remove the face mold. To do this, carefully peel the mold away from the plaster.
