Live French Open 2024: Nadal and Zverev set for first-round showdown

Rafael Nadal will face Alexander Zverev in a blockbuster first-round clash at the 2024 French Open.

Record 14-time Roland Garros champion Nadal is a firm favourite but Zverev, a former semi-finalist in Paris and current World No 4, will be no pushover.

The match is scheduled to start at 3pm local time on Thursday 23 May and will be shown live on Eurosport.

Nadal has won the French Open a record 14 times, including the last two years. He is widely regarded as the greatest clay-court player of all time.

Zverev is a rising star of the game and has been tipped to challenge Nadal for Grand Slam titles in the future. He reached the semi-finals of the French Open in 2021 and won the ATP Finals that same year.

The match between Nadal and Zverev is sure to be a classic. Nadal will be looking to extend his record-breaking run at Roland Garros, while Zverev will be determined to prove that he is the man to dethrone the King of Clay.
