Serie A: Juventus' Center-Backs Take Over in 2-1 Victory Over Cagliari

Late Own Goal Rescues a Point for Juventus at Cagliari

All Goals Scored by Defenders in Thrilling Second Half

The tables turned at the Allianz Stadium on Saturday as Juventus overcame Cagliari 2-1 in a Serie A clash where all three goals were scored by center-backs.

The Bianconeri extended their winning streak to five matches in Serie A and recorded their fifth consecutive victory at home thanks to goals from Gleison Bremer and Danilo.

Bremer opened the scoring in the 65th minute with a powerful header from a Juan Cuadrado cross. However, Cagliari equalized just six minutes later when Edoardo Goldaniga capitalized on a defensive error.

The match took a dramatic turn deep into injury time when Alberto Dossena inadvertently turned a cross into his own net, handing Juventus a crucial victory.

Despite the win, Juventus manager Max Allegri expressed disappointment with his team's performance, particularly in the first half.

"We had too many errors and struggled to create chances. The second half was better, but we need to improve in all aspects," Allegri said.

Meanwhile, Cagliari head coach Fabio Liverani lamented his team's missed opportunities.

"We had a few good chances to take the lead, but we failed to convert them. Juventus punished our mistakes, and that was the difference in the end," Liverani said.
